BRIDGE Main Challenge: A.1. Structural and intersectional inequalities that shape inclusion and social cohesion
TEMSIC addresses Social Challenge A1 on structural and intersectional inequalities affecting social inclusion and cohesion. Its central problem is the persistence of educational inequalities that particularly affect students in vulnerable situations due to the interaction of socio-economic factors, migrant background, gender or functional diversity, and which can contribute to early school leaving and processes of exclusion.
TEMSIC responds to this issue through a transformative approach centred on Global Citizenship Education (GCE) and Human Rights, moving beyond the traditional model through active, collaborative and inclusive methodologies. Its proposal offers a multilingual ecosystem of Open Educational Resources (four teaching guides and four cooperative games) to promote global citizenship, equity and educational inclusion.
TEMSIC is a transnational educational initiative based on pedagogical and co-creative innovation, funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. It addresses structural and intersectional inequalities that hinder social inclusion and cohesion. Its central problem is the persistence of educational gaps that disadvantage vulnerable students due to the intersection of socio-economic background, migrant status, gender or functional diversity. These inequalities can contribute to early school leaving and processes of exclusion, dynamics that traditional educational approaches may also help to reproduce.

These inequalities can contribute to early school leaving and processes of exclusion, dynamics that traditional educational approaches may also help to reproduce.
TEMSIC is relevant both for its pedagogical innovation and for its strategic contribution to the socio-educational field. It is particularly relevant to Social Challenge A1 because it addresses inequalities through inclusive and transformative methodologies. Its application and potential for transfer to Higher Education provide resources for the initial and continuing training of future professionals in education and socio-educational intervention.
TEMSIC contributes to Challenge A1 by addressing educational and intersectional gaps that hinder social inclusion and shape educational trajectories. It does so through open resources and active methodologies that transform teaching practice and help prevent the reproduction of dynamics of exclusion.
TEMSIC operates through a participatory transnational process structured in three phases: collaborative design and development of the conceptual framework and resources based on teachers’ needs; implementation and piloting in schools in Spain, Italy and Austria; and evaluation, dissemination and transfer of the materials to support their improvement and adaptation to other educational contexts. The resources remain available through an open multilingual repository.
