Since 2010, it has been part of the Educational Territories of Priority Intervention (TEIP) program. Tree specialized support units for the education of students with multideficiency (UAE) and congenital deaf-blindness, of 1st and 2nd cycles, are in operation at the Escola Básica Padre José Manuel Rocha e Melo and another one of 1st cycle in Escola Básica Pintora Maluda.
